Abigail Crabtree - Director has directed a wide range of work from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Vaclav Havel, Shaw to Shakespeare, and Tennessee Williams to García Lorca. Along the way she has served as both Artistic Director and Assoicaite Producer at the Cumberland County Playhouse of Tennessee. Thoughout her career she has been involved in creating theatre both in the commercial and academic community. She was the Founding Artistic Direcor of the Tennessee Governer's School of the Arts, has been a frequent guest at both univerisities and secondary schools, and has long been involved in youth theatre where she coninues to teach and direct.
As a playwright who has written for both youth audiences and adults and she continues to explore producing her own works and seeing them mounted by others. Her plays Silent Singing, Tomorrow Songs, and A Midwestern Nighmare are frequently produced.
Ms. Crabtree is a member of both AEA and SSDC and makes her home in Dallas, Texas where she currently teaches within the Dallas Independent School District.
